Quinta do Cerrado is one of the oldest wineries in the DAO region. Founded in 1942, the third generation of winemakers works at the winery creating a selection of fantastic wines that show why DAO is now in the very top of the most prestigious and highly acclaimed wine regions of Portugal. Quinta do Cerrado is located in the tiny village of Oliveirinha, near Carregal do Sal, in the very heart of the DAO region. 

In this beautiful estate, only native varieties are used. For whites: Encruzado and Malvasia Fina (and others in small quantities); for reds: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Jaen, Trincadeira Preta and Alfrocheiro (and others in small quantities). The soils in he region are rich in granite and schist, which gives the wines their world renown characteristics. 

Quinta do Cerrado is also one of a few wineries that still use concrete fermenting tanks for some of their wines. So here we have a great winery with old vines, native Portuguese varieties, three generations making wine in the heart of one of the best regions in the country; great terroir; concrete tanks; and most importantly, a great passion for what they do.
